The Advertising Specialty Institute\u00ae<\/a> (ASI) has opened its annual summer internship program<\/a> to member companies throughout the promotional products industry. The free, exclusive program, now in its ninth year, offers invaluable benefits for ASI members and students alike.<\/p>\n

Interns hired by participating suppliers and distributors gain access to free online training, ASI\u2019s ESP\u00ae and a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship. Intern start dates range from mid-May to mid-June. Since its inception in 2016, ASI has trained and mentored 1,899 interns at nearly 1,500 member companies.<\/p>\n

\u201cInterns play a pivotal role in introducing the next generation to the dynamic world of promotional products,\u201d said Timothy M. Andrews<\/a>, president and chief executive officer of ASI, the leading technology, marketing and information provider in the $26.1 billion promo industry. \u201cGiving interns a firsthand experience with promo\u2019s creativity and impact might ignite a passion for our industry and our products among future decision-makers and marketers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Companies can sign up interns whether they work at home, in the office or at factories. In addition, ASI\u2019s internship website includes resource materials to assist members in finding interns.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe focus on making it simple for our members, providing full support and valuable training at every stage,\u201d said Liz Chrostowski, product marketing manager, who oversees the intern program. \u201cOur goal is to prepare interns with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the promo industry smoothly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Further, Chrostowski helps interns bond, interact and learn together remotely through social media and numerous digital webinars.<\/p>\n

Last summer, 80% of surveyed interns who worked at supplier and distributor companies around the U.S. and Canada rated their overall experience as excellent or very good.<\/p>\n
