{"id":2571,"date":"2016-06-06T13:38:29","date_gmt":"2016-06-06T13:38:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asi2.wpenginepowered.com\/uncategorized\/industry-kicks-off-2013-with-high-energy-asi-orlando\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T16:20:48","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T20:20:48","slug":"industry-kicks-off-2013-with-high-energy-asi-orlando","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asicentral.com\/press-releases\/industry-kicks-off-2013-with-high-energy-asi-orlando\/","title":{"rendered":"Industry Kicks Off 2013 with High-Energy ASI Orlando"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Steve Forbes delivers bullish outlook to standing-room-only crowd<\/p>\n<p><strong>TREVOSE, PA \u2013 January 7, 2013<\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong><em>The\u00a0ASI<\/em><em>\u00a0Show<\/em>\u2122 in Orlando bolted into a new show season with\u00a0a bigger, jam-packed show floor featuring 810 exhibitors \u2013 including 114 new to Orlando \u2013 a full slate of networking events, expanded education and new pavilions featuring hands-on decorating equipment demos.<\/p>\n<p>Brown &amp; Bigelow (<em>asi\/148500<\/em>), The Vernon Company (<em>asi\/351700<\/em>),\u00a0AIA\u00a0Corporation (<em>asi\/109480<\/em>) and Geiger (<em>asi\/202900<\/em>) were among 18 leading companies that kicked off their 2013 sales season at\u00a0<em>The\u00a0ASI\u00a0Show\u00a0<\/em>Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe brought about 60 of our account executives here to\u00a0ASI\u00a0Orlando,\u201d said Dale Limes of HALO Branded Solutions (<em>asi\/356000<\/em>). \u201cWe look at\u00a0ASI\u00a0Orlando as a destination show \u2013 it\u2019s a great venue, great location and very well organized. The show floor is super. All the suppliers that you need to see are here. Our people really benefit from the time they spend at\u00a0<em>The\u00a0ASI<\/em><em>\u00a0Show<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Held Saturday, January 5, through Monday, January 7 at the\u00a0Orange\u00a0County\u00a0Convention Center,\u00a0ASI Orlando delivered quality attendance, top-performing salespeople and energized attendees enjoying a first look at 2013\u2019s hottest products.\u00a0The Orlando show featured a 10% increase in supplier participation \u2013 including many <em>Counselor<\/em><span class=\"register\"><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span> Top 40 suppliers. Total distributor attendance was about\u00a06,000\u00a0from 2,427\u00a0distributor firms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cASI\u00a0Orlando has been a great show for us,\u201d said Jason Buchanan, of Broder Bros. (<em>asi\/42090<\/em>). \u201cTraffic to our booth has been very steady, and we\u2019re seeing a lot of quality distributors. Attendees have very specific questions about their 2013 projects and they\u2019re always looking for what\u2019s new and hot. So\u00a0ASI\u00a0Orlando is perfectly timed for us to show them exactly what they\u2019re looking for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During a standing-room-only keynote on Monday, about 900 industry professionals gained valuable business advice from Forbes Media Chairman\u00a0Steve Forbes. The event was co-sponsored by Pepco Poms (<em>asi\/77280<\/em>) and Showdown Displays (<em>asi\/87188<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo matter what job you have, you\u2019re selling,\u201d said Forbes. \u201cSee yourself as a consultant \u2013 \u2018I\u2019m here to help you. I\u2019m doing well and so will you.\u2019 That\u2019s what the transaction exchange is all about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tom Clayton of Taylor\u2019s Printing and Office Supplier (<em>asi\/548319<\/em>) said he listened to every word Forbes said. \u201cI don\u2019t think\u00a0ASI\u00a0could have picked a better speaker,\u201d Clayton said. Patrick White, from Rustico (<em>asi\/84264<\/em>), said Forbes offered excellent insights and a very optimistic view for 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The three-day show \u2013 the first of the 2013\u00a0<em>ASI<\/em><em>\u00a0Show<\/em>\u00a0season \u2013 featured the industry\u2019s most innovative products, specialized pavilions (the Incentive, Decorator and the New to Orlando Pavilions), two networking receptions and a\u00a0Gala Celebration at Universal CityWalk. In addition, the industry celebrated the 80th\u00a0birthday of\u00a0ASI<span class=\"register\"><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span> Chairman Norman Cohn at a special party featuring an enormous fireworks display at the Walt Disney World Resort.<\/p>\n<p>For 2013,\u00a0ASI\u00a0Orlando expanded its live\u00a0ASI\u00a0Education offerings to 63 sessions, including a new class for owners (sponsored by TargetLine, <em>asi\/90640<\/em>) and a new Imprint It Track (sponsored by Bodek and Rhodes, <em>asi\/40788<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>All education sessions were eligible for credits toward\u00a0BASI\u2122 (Bachelor of Advertising Specialty Information) and MASI\u2122 (Master of Advertising Specialty Information) certification. Following a reception in their honor, 22 graduates of the\u00a0ASI Certification Program\u00a0were recognized in a pinning ceremony. To date, over 23,000 industry professionals have registered for classes necessary to obtain the industry certification.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s clear from the high caliber of\u00a0quality ASI\u00a0suppliers on the show floor and the growing number of leading companies holding sales meetings that\u00a0ASI\u00a0Orlando has become the show of choice for industry pros on the go,\u201d said Lorenz Hassenstein, general manager and vice president of\u00a0<em>The ASI\u00a0Show<\/em>. \u201cThere\u2019s no better way to kick off a new year and a new show season than with the best education in the industry, a bigger, better show floor and superior networking events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAttracting 114 new exhibitors to\u00a0Orlando\u00a0is the best possible proof of growing interest in the\u00a0ASI\u00a0Orlando show experience, which brings together top suppliers and engaged distributors eager to expand their product lines while learning everything there is to know about new and emerging markets,\u201d added Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, ASI\u00a0honored 270 of the industry\u2019s top-performing suppliers at the annual\u00a0<em>Counselor<\/em> Distributor Choice Awards.
