{"id":2371,"date":"2016-06-06T13:38:09","date_gmt":"2016-06-06T13:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asi2.wpenginepowered.com\/uncategorized\/asi-recognizes-counselor-power-50-ranking\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T14:13:49","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T18:13:49","slug":"asi-recognizes-counselor-power-50-ranking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asicentral.com\/press-releases\/asi-recognizes-counselor-power-50-ranking\/","title":{"rendered":"ASI Recognizes Counselor\u00ae Power 50 Ranking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>BIC Group General Manager Nicolas Paillot and Norwood President Paul Lage share No. 1 spot; 14 newcomers join list<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"style5\"><span class=\"style6\"><span class=\"style8\"><strong>TREVOSE, PA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 <strong>November 3, 2009<\/strong> \u2013 The Advertising Specialty Institute\u00ae, the largest media and marketing organization serving the advertising specialty industry, today announced the 2009 <em>Counselor<\/em> Power 50 list to recognize the industry\u2019s most influential leaders.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"style7\">The <em>Counselor<\/em> Power 50 represents a group of executives who have the most influence on the ad specialty marketplace. \u00a0They set the daily agenda, create business strategies that others emulate, and impact how both distributors and suppliers go to market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style7\">The top-ranked executives in the 2009 <em>Counselor<\/em> Power 50 ranking include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"style7\">\n<li>Nicolas Paillot, general manager of BIC Group (<em>asi\/40480<\/em>) and Paul Lage, president of Norwood Promotional Products<\/li>\n<li>Marty Lott, president of SanMar (<em>asi\/84863<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Greg Muzzillo and Vera Muzzillo, co-CEOs of Proforma (<em>asi\/300094<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Marc Simon, CEO of Halo\/Lee Wayne (<em>asi\/356000<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Gene Geiger and Jo-an Lantz, CEO and executive vice president, respectively, of Geiger (<em>asi\/202900<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"style7\">\u201cThe Power 50 includes the \u2018Who\u2019s Who\u2019 of the promotional products industry,\u201d said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI.\u00a0 \u201cThis year, the top spot represents the biggest industry news story of the year \u2013 BIC\u2019s acquisition of Norwood \u2013 and it\u2019s shared by executives of both companies for their dynamic and lively leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"style7\">The ranking is determined by a panel of editorial experts at the award-winning <em>Counselor<\/em> magazine.\u00a0 The panel first sent a survey to industry distributors and suppliers, asking them to nominate candidates for the list and to also indicate whether those on last year\u2019s list should move up or down, or be removed.\u00a0 It also carefully weighed other factors, such as nominees\u2019 achievements throughout the year and the health of their companies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style7\">The list also includes 14 newcomers, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"style7\">\n<li>Derek Block, CEO of Touchstone (<em>asi\/345631<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Maribeth Sandford, CEO of Bag Makers (<em>asi\/37940<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Anthony Corsano, CEO of Anvil (asi<em>\/36350<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Jim Hagan, CEO from Sweda (<em>asi\/90305<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Judith Zimmerman, CEO from Artcraft Promotional Concepts (<em>asi\/125050<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"style7\">In addition, one mover-and-shaker to watch is Lands\u2019 End (<em>asi\/20040<\/em>) CEO Nick Coe, who debuted on the list.\u00a0 His company expanded this year to include hard goods through Lands\u2019 End Business Outfitters, which has the potential to become one of the largest ad specialty distributors and is sourcing from industry suppliers as part of its new strategy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style7\">This year\u2019s group was announced at the third ASI Power Summit, an exclusive event attended by nearly 200 executives and business leaders from around the globe who discuss issues vital to the advertising specialty industry, identify best practices and determine ways in which the industry can productively move forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style7\">Distributors and suppliers can learn more about the lessons learned from these successful leaders and timely initiatives at their companies in the upcoming issues of <em>Counselor<\/em> magazine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style7\">Nominees for the list can be either ASI members or non-members, and nominations can be made by a representative working at any advertising specialty company in North America.<\/p>\n<article><\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BIC Group General Manager Nicolas Paillot and Norwood President Paul Lage share No. 1 spot;
