Based on Exhibitor Demand, Adds Second Event for August 19<\/em><\/p>\n

TREVOSE, PA \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0May 21, 2009<\/strong>\u00a0–<\/strong> Advertising Specialty Institute\u00ae<\/sup><\/span>\u00a0announced today that its first industry virtual trade show attracted over 2,000 distributors and based on exhibitor demand, a second virtual trade show has been scheduled for August 19.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The virtual trade show on Wednesday featured 24 exhibiting suppliers, including Dard Products (asi\/48500), Norwood and Prime Resources (asi\/79530), and created interactive multimedia booths for distributors, suppliers and decorators to network, communicate and sell in real-time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The online event also featured leading education sessions for distributors with sales tips, research from ASI\u2019s advertising specialties impressions study, information from the Counselor\u00ae<\/em> State of the Industry\u2122 report, and a broadcast of the ASI Internet Radio Show that attracted over 200 live listeners. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs\u00a0other shows are experiencing a downturn, ASI is delivering and providing more ways for distributors, suppliers and decorators to connect, sell and build market share in these challenging times,\u201d said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI. \u201cThe ASI virtual trade show offers an additional, cost-effective way to interact and learn, without leaving the office.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur virtual show yesterday joins our extremely successful in-person shows this year,\u201d Andrews said.\u00a0 \u201cWe had record attendance at our Dallas show, and strong attendance in Orlando and New York City.\u00a0 In addition, the ASI Advantages Roadshow has attracted 8,213 attendees in North America, with a full schedule planned for the fall.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Reactions from virtual trade show attendees have been positive.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI attended the virtual trade show,\u201d said Joel D. Schaffer, CEO of Soundline LLC (asi\/88241).\u00a0 \u201cWhile the food was tasteless, ASI did a great job. \u00a0The \u2018experience\u2019 was top shelf.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cASI and the participating vendors have done an excellent job and it was an interesting and informative experience,\u201d said Marsha Londe, owner of Tango! (asi\/828198).\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s worth an hour to explore simply to see what\u2019s going on with cyber-selling.\u00a0 The more informed we are, the better we can work with our clients.\u201d<\/p>\n
