{"id":2292,"date":"2016-06-06T13:38:05","date_gmt":"2016-06-06T13:38:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asi2.wpenginepowered.com\/uncategorized\/asi-announces-winners-of-2008-counselor-awards\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T13:07:14","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T17:07:14","slug":"asi-announces-winners-of-2008-counselor-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asicentral.com\/press-releases\/asi-announces-winners-of-2008-counselor-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"ASI\u00ae Announces Winners of 2008 Counselor Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TREVOSE, PA \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>May 7, 2008<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>&#8211;<\/strong> Advertising Specialty Institute\u00ae, the largest media and marketing organization serving the advertising specialty industry, announced today the winners of the 2008 <em>Counselor<\/em> Awards, as selected by <em>Counselor<\/em> magazine.<\/p>\n<p>The annual awards recognized outstanding individuals and companies in nine categories, celebrating some of the brightest talent and business achievements in the advertising specialty industry.\u00a0 The Top 40 Distributors and Top 40 Suppliers rankings were also revealed &#8211; the largest companies in the industry based upon 2007 revenue.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the <em>Counselor<\/em> Product Design Awards winners were recognized for their innovations in cutting-edge product design and functionality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were very excited to present this year\u2019s winners,\u201d said Melinda Ligos, editor-in-chief for ASI.\u00a0 \u201cThe C<em>ounselor<\/em> Awards honor individuals who serve their communities through their volunteer efforts or who have impacted the industry by contributing new revenue-generating ideas and best practices.\u00a0 They range from leaders at large companies, to owners of family-owned businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The winners of the 2008 <em>Counselor<\/em> Awards are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Person of the Year &#8211; Jack Teague, president, BIC Graphic USA (<em>asi\/40480<\/em>)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">International Person of the Year &#8211; Jonathan Isaacson, president and owner, Gemline (<em>asi\/56070<\/em>)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Distributor Entrepreneurs of the Year &#8211; Lewis Amicone and Monte Baumgartner, founders, Promopeddler.com <em>(asi\/300367<\/em>)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Supplier Entrepreneur of the Year &#8211; Larry Wilhelm, president, Custom HBC Corp. (<em>asi\/47934<\/em>)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Distributor Woman of Distinction &#8211; Laura Holt, vice president of sales, Geiger (<em>asi\/196480<\/em>)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Supplier Woman of Distinction &#8211; Paula Shulman, vice president of sales, PrimeLine (<em>asi\/79530<\/em>)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Bess Cohn Humanitarian Award &#8211; Neil Tatar, president, Adirondack Ad Specialties (<em>asi\/105035<\/em>)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Supplier Family Business of the Year &#8211; Chocolate Inn (<em>asi\/44900<\/em>)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Marvin Spike Lifetime Achievement Award &#8211;<\/span> Dick Kaeser, chairman of Kaeser &amp; Blair (<em>asi\/238600<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The highly-anticipated Person of the Year award was presented to Jack Teague, a <em>Counselor<\/em> Power 50 honoree and president of Top 40 supplier BIC Graphic USA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Person of the Year is not recognized for a lifetime of achievements,\u201d said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI.\u00a0 \u201cRather, the award is presented to someone who, in our judgment, has recently contributed significant new ideas, new approaches, new ways of looking at our marketplace, or has even redefined it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince I joined ASI in 2003, Jack has emerged as one of the small number of respected leaders in safety, compliance and sustainability and he is paving the way for the rest of us,\u201d said Andrews.\u00a0 \u201cHe manages a truly global supplier business, responsible for all BIC Graphic divisions in the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, South America, Australia and New Zealand.\u00a0 He has not only successfully addressed the challenges of compliance and sustainability, but he\u2019s also managed to revolutionize product development at BIC.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Counselor<\/em> awards were presented at the new <em>ASI Show<\/em> in New York City \u2013 the industry\u2019s only major show in New York.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<article><\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TREVOSE, PA \u2013\u00a0May 7, 2008\u00a0&#8211;
