Brand Addition U.S. CEO Chuck Fandos named Person of the Year; BDA Senior Director of Sourcing LeeAnn Schumacher selected International Person of the Year<\/em><\/p>\n

TREVOSE, PA \u2013 July 14, 2016 \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The\u00a0Advertising Specialty Institute<\/a>\u00ae<\/span>\u00a0(ASI) today announced the winners of the 2016Counselor<\/em>\u00ae<\/span>\u00a0Awards, including Brand Addition U.S. CEOChuck Fandos as Person of the Year<\/a>\u00a0and BDA Senior Director of Sourcing LeeAnn Schumacher as International Person of the Year.<\/p>\n

The awards, chosen by the editors of ASI\u2019s award\u00ad-winningCounselor<\/em>\u00a0magazine, recognize outstanding individuals and companies in seven categories. The winners represent the best and brightest entrepreneurs, small\u00ad-business leaders and CEOs in the $22 billion promotional products industry.<\/p>\n

In addition,\u00a0Counselor\u00a0<\/em>announced the\u00a0Top 40 Distributor<\/a>\u00a0andTop 40 Supplier<\/a>\u00a0rankings \u2013 the largest companies in the industry based upon 2015 revenue.<\/p>\n

Among suppliers, alphabroder was No. 1, setting a record in the industry with $1 billion in North American ad specialty sales.<\/p>\n

For distributors, Staples Promotional Products (asi\/120601) remains the largest firm in the industry, with 4imprint (asi\/197045) and Proforma (asi\/300094) rounding out the top three spots on the list.<\/p>\n

Fandos is the founder of multimillion-dollar distributor firm Gateway CDI. In January, Brand Addition, the largest distributor firm in Europe, acquired Gateway CDI. The St. Louis-based distributor now operates under the Brand Addition name while maintaining its operations and management structure, including Fandos as U.S. CEO.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur 2016\u00a0Counselor<\/em>\u00a0Person of the Year, Chuck Fandos, shuns complacency and refuses to stand still while the world around him evolves,\u201d said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI at a black\u00ad-tie ceremony on Wednesday at the historic Field Museum in Chicago. \u201cAs a result, his career continues to be nothing short of phenomenal. And when it came time to make the tough decision to sell the company he built from the ground up \u2013 along with his loyal wife and long-time business partner \u2013 he negotiated the smartest possible deal, giving him license to succeed internationally.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 2016\u00a0Counselor\u00a0<\/em>Awards took place during\u00a0ASI Show<\/em><\/a>\u00ae<\/span>\u00a0Chicago<\/a>\u00a0at McCormick Place, held Tuesday, July 12, through Thursday, July 14, and featuring a keynote by national political strategists Mary Matalin and James Carville.<\/p>\n
