Ahead of Google\u2019s July deadline, ESP Websites come with free, safe, compliant web security certificate<\/em><\/header>\n<\/article>\n

TREVOSE, PA \u2013 May 2, 2018 \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>The Advertising Specialty Institute\u00ae<\/a> (ASI) today announced it has upgraded ESP Websites\u2122<\/a> to meet the latest security standards with a free, safe, compliant SSL web security certificate, ahead of Google\u2019s July deadline.<\/p>\n

This summer, Google Chrome will flag websites missing an SSL certificate as \u201cnot secure,\u201d which will impact a company\u2019s search results ranking. Unlike other providers in the promotional products industry, all ESP Websites with an URL ending with espwebsite.com already come with a free SSL Certificate, so ASI customer sites are secure from the start and in compliance with the very latest web security demands \u2013 no upgrade necessary.<\/p>\n

ESP Websites deliver a world-class shopping experience, with the search field on a customer\u2019s website pulling from ESP\u00ae, the number-one business platform in the industry, allowing customers to search and buy any product directly from a company\u2019s ESP Website.<\/p>\n

URL addresses that start with HTTPS mean data between a visitor\u2019s browser and a website is sent through a secured connection that\u2019s encrypted by what\u2019s called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), a security method that helps protect the transfer of sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, passwords and usernames, Social Security numbers and more.<\/p>\n

If an ESP Website is on a custom domain, ASI customers need to buy an SSL Certificate by July to make that domain secure and ensure Google search rankings aren\u2019t affected. For a nominal handling fee of $50 a year, ASI offers any company with a custom domain an SSL certificate, which is at least a third less than the cost charged by other vendors.<\/p>\n

Even if a company has a custom domain, the portion of its website where visitors purchase products is still the secure espwebsite.com domain, meaning a visitors\u2019 shopping info is secure, while the rest of the site is not. ASI will not charge customers who wish to move their custom domain to an already secure ESP Website.<\/p>\n
