The bad news is distributors are still navigating a wealth of challenges like supply chain woes and staffing shortages needed to handle the surge in business.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Green Is Good.<\/strong> Sustainability is gaining traction in promo, with about six in 10 distributors saying they\u2019d prefer to buy items that are environmentally friendly or socially responsible.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Show Me the Money.<\/strong> Distributors\u2019 average profit margin improved after a sharp decline in 2020, increasing nearly a point and a half, from 33.4% to 34.8%.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Topping Off the Tank.<\/strong> Total <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asicentral.com\/news\/web-exclusive\/july-2022\/top-40-distributors-2022\/\">sales for the distributor Top 40 companies<\/a> rose by 8.8%.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Powerhouse Favorites Return<\/strong>. Stalwart categories like apparel, drinkware, bags, writing instruments, etc. bounced back to 2019 levels. Still, PPE face coverings remained at number nine in the list of Top 10 categories.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Where\u2019s the Tech?<\/strong> Tech products like USBs and mobile tech accessories peaked in 2018 and appeared to run out of juice in 2021.
